2012 Yearbook

2012 has been an extremely busy year at Stanton House Hotel

January and February saw the refurbishment of the Rosemary Restaurant & remodelling of part of the gardens, ready for the arrival of a beautiful English Country House Gazebo.

In March we hosted our Wedding Fayre, this was an outstanding success with over 300 parties attending, the weather was great and all 60 exhibitors thoroughly enjoyed an extremely busy day. When we held our first wedding Fayre in 2003 we decided to organise it ourselves, after all we know how best to show the Hotel and grounds off, we haven’t looked back since and they just keeping getting bigger and better. This year our wedding Fayre will be on the 3rd March and is open to all, come and see the Hotel transformed over to the world of weddings.



April: We opened our new Yakiniku@ Mt Fuji Restaurant, showcasing our new state of the art inside BBQ’s. The idea is simple come and enjoy yourself, eat quality fresh local meat, seafood and vegetables grilled over a direct flame, turning your meal into a fun interactive time spent with friends and family, you decide what you want to eat and then simply grill it.

May & June with the extra bank holiday was a blur of Weddings, Christenings & Parties; our busiest 2 months ever with over 20 weddings, a party on the front lawn for the village of Stanton Fitzwarren to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee


July & August: Although not the greatest of summers, we still had great displays in our gardens, the Hotel was extremely busy with Conferences and Accommodation bookings during the week and more weddings at the weekends, topped off with two very busy Restaurants it really was non-stop. The Olympics provided us with a great opportunity to celebrate being British and putting on a bloody good show, both the Olympics and Paralympics were an undoubted success and were the talking point at Meetings, Weddings and Dinner. Our Conservatory was decked out in bunting, had a huge television which constantly had people watching it and the bar did really well every time we won a medal.

September: We launched our new website, showing all that Stanton House Hotel has to offer, a more interactive and user friendly website (you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter), where you can get a more detailed look at everything, we will continually add new & old photographs throughout the year & add as many special offers as possible, we also started our Christmas advertising with a small display in Reception.

October: For some strange reason a few of us decided that it would be a good idea to run the Swindon Half Marathon, well, we all managed to complete it and raised nearly £500.00 for the SANDS charity. Cathy set up the Swindon SANDS group and you can read more about Cathy in an earlier Blog.  That was it then; we have now decided to run the Paris Marathon in April, twice the distance, twice the pain, hopefully double the money raised for charity.

November: We hosted a workshop for 150 Japanese wedding planners; they were on a 3 day trip to Paris, London & Swindon. We arranged a full mock wedding for them to attend as guests; they witnessed a ceremony, photo shoot and wedding breakfast and in the afternoon took part in classes including Floristry, Photography, Jewellery making, Cake decorating, Stationery & Table displays + much much more.





And then it was December: Enjoy these pictures of our Staff Christmas party, believe me a great time was had by all.



2013 looks just as busy, we hope that you all have a very prosperous 2013 and we look forward to seeing you at Stanton House Hotel throughout the year.
