Stanton House Hotel is open to the public and has become well known throughout Swindon and the surrounding areas. With sensibility and insight, we are dedicated to providing products that give the highest quality service to our guests..
Our aim is to always exceed our customers’ expectations.
Stanton House was purchased in 1990 and the old manor house was converted from a private dwelling into a hotel (with the addition of a large extension). with considerable re-modelling in Cotswold stone to match the original. The oldest part of the hotel was re-built in 1935 following a fire in 1932 and there have been previous buildings associated with the site for many years.
As part of the community we are active in working with Stanton Fitzwarren Parish Council, St. Leonard’s Church and support them whenever possible; in 2012 Stanton House Hotel hosted a Diamond Jubilee Party for Stanton Fitzwarren residents.
In October 2012 staff from the hotel ran the Swindon Half Marathon to raise funds and awareness for SANDS (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity). Swindon Sands are raising funds for 2 rooms at GWH in Swindon, to be converted in to a Bereavement Suite for families who are given the devastating news that they have lost their baby. These rooms will provide a comfortable and private environment for their entire stay at the hospital.
In April 2013 Iain & Richard both took part and completed the Paris Marathon to raise money for the “Get Kids Going” charity.
Richard, Yoann, Filipe & Iain all ran the Swindon Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October 2013
Local schools love coming to the Mt Fuji Restaurant to learn about Japan, use chopsticks and generally have fun, if you would like to arrange a visit or would like more information please call Kimiko Moyse at the Hotel.
Iain & Filipe (and Richard) will be running a Ultra marathon on the 21st June, this will be a 69 mile run in 1 day along the course of Hadrian’s wall from Carlisle to Newcastle, all money raised will go to CR_UK
Stanton Fitzwarren is a unique village of just 200 inhabitants nestling on the edge of the Cotswolds, yet just 10 minutes drive from Swindon with a history stretching back over 2000 years
St Leonard’s Church:
This is a grade I listed building dating from the 13th & 14th centuries. However it is the late 12th century Norman font, possibly from an earlier church burnt down in the 13th century that earns the church its grade I listing.
Stanton Lake & Park
With access through our gardens to the Lake and Park, we are well situated to enjoy unspoilt views, Stanton Park is a 74-hectare country park and Local Nature Reserve a few minutes drive away from the center of Swindon.
It features extensive woodland and a large lake. The Park also contains a Scheduled Ancient Monument- the site of a Roman Villa (although there are no visible remains).
It is the holder of a Green Flag award, which describes it as an ‘inspiring and largely unspoiled example of a country park’.
Nature Reserve status was acquired for 36 hectares of the park that includes the lake, woodland and grassland.
